Next week, I will become the Marketing and Communications Manager for EHC LifeBuilders, our community’s largest provider of services and shelter for homeless people. I’ll continue consulting on a few projects for long-term clients and friends. I’m excited!
My career has had a number of twists and turns and I have even had two jobs before–just not a full-time job and a freelance business. In planning for this, I’ve had to rethink all my systems for organizing and tracking projects. This is still in process and if I have any brilliant flashes of insight, I’ll share them here.
Yes, I said I would share them here. In addition to two jobs, I hope to keep blogging and maintain my WagnerWrites social media presence. This may mean more scheduled posts or it may not. It will likely mean a decrease in activity, not unlike the last two weeks, when I’ve been furiously trying to wrap up projects for the clients I’ve had to let go.
Thank you for being with me on this journey. If you’re concerned about the issue of homelessness, I hope you’ll follow EHC LifeBuilders on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google+. We may open more channels later in the year, too. And if you ever have feedback or suggestions on our work, please share them.
When I accepted this job, I sent a short biography for my boss to share with the Board. It ended with this statement:
Both Claire and her husband have had close relatives who experienced homelessness as a result of mental illness, PTSD from military service, or addiction. Two of them died on the streets.
EHC LifeBuilders is passionately committed to ending homelessness. It’s an honor to help them continue their live-saving work.
